From the beginning of 2021, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) will deploy QRCode application according to the State Bank’s standards for all electricity users in which each customer will have their own QRCode.
This information was released by EVN at the Launching Ceremony of “QRCode Application for Payment of Electricity Bills” on December 9, in Hanoi.
According to Nguyen Quoc Dung, Head of EVN’s Business Department, this QRCode will be unique to each customer and applied to all customers regarding their electricity bills and electricity bill notification.
Customers also do not need to remember their customer code when making transactions with EVN, and the payment for their electricity services becomes simpler and more convenient.
When making a payment, customers just need to scan the QR code and enter the amount, the payment transaction will be completed quickly without declaring user information.
In addition, customers can save payment information on their personal mobile phones at anytime and anywhere with just one scan of the QRCode code.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Dung said that QRCode is applied according to the State Bank’s standards to help customers feel more secure when making electricity service payment transactions with two layers of security and a special QRCode format. As for the power sector, the application of QRCode will contribute to increasing labor productivity, bringing greater efficiency in electricity business and customer service.
This event marks the process of continuing to apply new technologies and solutions to bring the most convenience to customers using electricity across the country. The implementation of QRCode according to the State Bank’s standards demonstrates the Group’s efforts to continuously improve and bring electricity services to customers more and more conveniently, openly and transparently on the basis of applying modern technology, contributing to boosting the building of a digital economy.
